The 2011 Corkscrew International


The 2011 ”American Grand AM series at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca" presents the “The Stars of Superkarts” hosted by “Northern California Karters” on July 8th-9th. Please see registration instructions at the bottom of this page.

This 2 day event puts the Superkarts at the top of the Billing not only with speed but great competition as well. Drivers are coming from 3 continents trying to earn the bragging rights of being The Best. This year we will offer 3 classes to fill the 40 Kart field.

Weekend Format

Friday
8:00-8:20AM (20 min): Practice
12:00-12:15PM (15min): Practice-Qualifying
5:40-6:00PM (20 min): Pre-Main

The grid will be set by qualifying time (not class). Main Event winner takes all. Awards given out immediately following the race.

Saturday
8:00-8:15AM (15 min): Practice
5:40-6:00PM (20 min): Main Event

Fees
Entry and driver: $475.00 Transponder Rental: $50.00 weekend

Rules For The Weekend
You all know what the basic rules are!

KART Weights for this weekend:
FE: 475lbs (not the normal 485# Twin powered 250cc)
Super ICE: 465lbs (GAS GAS motors, basic ICE rules)
ICE # 465 (basic IC/E Rules)

Dimensions
Wheelbase: 50” maximum, 42” minimum
Width: 55” maximum
Height: 30” maximum (Does not include head rest)
Length: 96” maximum (including all bodywork)

Bodywork
Bodywork is to consist of a front nose, driver fairing, left/right side pod and rear wing. All material is to be non-metallic. No tattered karts allowed!

Nose: Minimum width: 38”, Maximum width: 50”, Minimum height: 10”
Side Pods: Two required. Minimum height: 10”, Minimum width: 8”, Minimum length: 24”
Driver Fairing: Minimum width: 14”
Rear Wing: Minimum width: 42”, Maximum width: 49”. Height must be similar to known Super Kart Chassis dimensions (Anderson, PVP, MSR, Stockman, etc.)
Radios: Two-way communication systems are allowed.

Fuel
You must declare what fuel you are running at scales.

Tires
Tires are open (all classes).

We will run Rain or Shine, so be prepared. We will have drivers meeting at 7:00am on each day to cover the basics. Let's look professional out there! No sloppy team attire.
